Highlights: Rhone Valley and Paris in May, 2017

The majestic Rhône River flows through France’s most alluring and dramatic vineyards. Our group of seven visited in May, 2017 with the vineyards turning green in fine, sunny weather.

After traveling from Paris on the high-speed T.G.V. train, we stayed in the heart of historic Vienne in the northern Rhône. Over the weekend our guide Veronique helped us explore Vienne’s historic Saturday Market and incredible Roman sites including the amphitheatre. We visited several casual wine bars and had a fabulous dinner with at the two Michelin start Restaurant La Pyramide.

Then we traveled to Côte Rôtie, Condrieu, Crozes-Hermitage, Cornas, Lirac, Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Gigondas enjoying unique, private winery visits and tastings with top Rhône winemakers including Bernard Bergaud, Stephane Rousset, Matthieu Barret, and Delphine and Roselind Faraud at Domaine Cayron. The scenic vineyards were incredible!
